History

In his 20 years of experience, Jay Reeves has always focused his energy into beautiful design. In his career, he has specialized in everything from historic preservation to redevelopment and planning. His experience in large-scale mixed-use projects, rehabilitation and restoration work gives him an edge to working in the field of architecture today. His knowledge of not only architectural design but also building construction helps to insure that the quality of his designs is maintained throughout the construction process. He is an AIA Award-winning architect who has also participated in special category grant work with the Florida SHPO and HABS documentation. He is also experienced in master planning projects, phased implementation, relocation and stabilization of structures, tax certification and National Register nominations. He has extensive experience in programming and design of new structures, working within historic and redevelopment districts, producing compatible designs and working within New Urbanism and Traditional City guidelines. He has been published for his use of energy efficient design standards and is recognized for incorporating "green building" principles into traditional design.

Currently, Mr. Reeves is well known for his Coastal Design style, which uses a modified Florida Cracker, also known as Florida Vernacular, style with Arts and Crafts influences. He specializes in traditional design, but also loves to work on all types of projects where the emphasis is on quality and design.
